Our mission is to excite
believers
and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
We fulfill this mission as we:
Reach in to the already convinced and saved with the saving
and healing Gospel of Christ, that they might be encouraged, strengthened,
and excited about their personal relationship with the Lord and be equipped
for a life of discipleship and witnessing for Christ Jesus,
Reach out to the seekers and those who are lost with the saving
and healing Gospel of Christ, that they might come to a personal growing relationship
with the Lord Jesus.
Our Values and Core Beliefs
Jesus died and rose
for all
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that
whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
John 3:16
The Bible is God’s
True Word
"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking,
correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be
thoroughly equipped for every good work." 2 Tim 3:16-17
The Word and Sacraments
"For it is sufficient for the true unity of the Christian church
that the Gospel be preached in conformity to and with a pure understanding
of it and that the Sacraments be administered in accordance with the divine
Word." Article VII, Augsburg Confession
Reaching the lost
with the Gospel
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in
the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching
them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you
always, to the very end of the age." Matt 28:19-20
Protecting, caring
for, and educating our children
"Jesus said, 'Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder
them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.'"
Matt 19:14
Love our neighbors
as ourselves
"Jesus replied: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and
with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest
commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor
as yourself.'" Matt 22:37-39
Our Vision
Our community will know us and look to us as a people and place of joy,
forgiveness, comfort, love, and help. They will have the opportunity to
hear God’s Word and receive the Sacraments in an atmosphere of peace and
family fellowship.
Our guests will be welcomed, accepted, and loved whenever they come
here. They will leave inspired and excited about God, knowing their needs
can be fulfilled and their lives can be transformed by Jesus Christ.
The members of GSLC will be a loving, caring, and sharing group of believers
in Christ. This increasingly diverse group will be thankful for and excited
about their growing discipleship. They will actively and enthusiastically
show their love for God in all their ministries and as they develop an
open, inviting, attractive, and bustling center for the community and the
members to use and enjoy.
