Good Shepherd Lutheran Church - Goleta, CA
Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.
Psalm
100:4
Good Shepherd offers a variety of musical service opportunities, vocal
and instrumental, for youth and adults.
Festival Singers
The Festival
Singers enhance the worship services, singing for special
services. The Singers typically rehearse Thursday evenings
starting about five weeks before
events. Everyone who enjoys singing is
welcome, although some musical experience is helpful. The
Festival Singers are directed by Adam Phillips.
Praise Band
The dynamic and
enthusiastic Praise Band instrumentalists (guitars, percussion, piano,
harmonica) and singers lead the congregation in contemporary worship on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. Contact
Adam Phillips for
further information.
Youth Praise Band
The Youth Praise
Band also leads the
congregation in contemporary worship on Sundays at 10:30
a.m about once per month. Contact Adam Phillips if you are interested. The Youth
Praise Band rehearses on Sunday afternoons.
Shepherd's Bells
The
Shepherd's Bells is the adult handbell choir at Good
Shepherd. They play for the worship services usually once per
month. Twelve to fourteen ringers ring five octaves of
Schulmerich handbells, occasionally adding other instruments such as
four
octaves of Malmark hand chimes, or other instruments.
Rehearsals are every Thursday. Shepherd's Bells is directed
by
Joan Barnett.
Good Shepherd Ensemble
The Ensemble offers
special music for worship services and seasonal presentations in our
church and provides adn opportunity to share musical gifts for anybody
who plays a brass or wind instrument. For rehearsal and performance
times,
contact Susan Miller.
Solo, Duet and Small
Ensemble Music
If you enjoy
singing or playing an instrument and would like to share your gifts in
a worship service, we encourage you to contact Adam Phillips.
We often have members share their musical gifts of singing or instrumental music, and it is always a greatly
appreciated enhancement to our worship.
Traditional services are accompanied on our Ahlborn-Galanti three-manual organ.
